The Hon. Adam Hamilton, who spent the weekend in Invercargill, returned to Wellington by the express yesterday morning. Mr J. L. Thomas, M.A., has taken up his duties as rector of the Winton District High School after a period of military service. Mr F. O. Rice was elected president of the Invercargill branch of the Home Servicemen’s Association at the annual meeting of the branch last night. Mr W. M- Norman, who has been chairman of the Winton branch of theNational Party for 10 years, did not seek re-election at the annual meeting, and Mr J. Fowler was elected chairman. Guests at the Grand Hotel include Mr and Mrs E. L. Nathan, Mr A. M. Hutchings (Auckland), Miss E. Macmillan (Tauranga), Mrs L. M. Isitt, Miss Constance Morice (Wellington), Flight Lieut. J. T. King, Flying Officer W. L. Murphy, Messrs H. Cardinal, E. Peek (Christchurch), Mrs R. G. Charters (Geraldine), Mr J. G. Lilley (Methven), Misses M. White and C. Dreaver, Dr R. T. Hay, Messrs H. W. Barnes, G. E. Duff and J. F. Thomson (Dunedin).
