CHARGES OF BREAKING AND ENTERING
Deaf And Dumb Prisoner Sent To Gaol (P.A.) DUNEDIN, April 23. A deaf and dumb prisoner, Robert Herbert Martinsen, aged 25, was this morning sentenced to 18 months’ reformative detention on three charges of breaking, entering and theft. Mr Justice Kennedy said the prisoner was caught redhanded, escaped by violent means and escaped again while being questioned by the police. He was one of those who had been creating a feeling of alarm and insecurity in Dunedin homes.
