SERVICEMEN ENTERTAINED WAIMAHAKA.— The Waimahaka hall was filled for a social evening in honour of Privates A. McGarvie, S. Mincher, K. Livingstone and G. Capil and Aircraftman I. Templeton. The guests were piped to the stage by Piper L. Crighton. The chairman, Mr J. Tapper, in making a presentation, referred to the splendid record of the New Zealand Forces. Mrs W. Stirling also made a presentation of a parcel of comforts on behalf of the branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Messrs F. Carswell and L. Orlowski also spoke. Private ,A. McGarvie and Aircraftman Templeton returned thanks on behalf of their comrades.
