CUT IN AUSTRALIAN MEAT RATION

(Rec. 7 p.m.) CANBERRA, April 7. Provided that shipping can be arranged, the meat ration in Australia will be reduced to allow more meat to be sent to Britain. The Federal Government has made this offer to Britain, but the Australian authorities have no control over the use of refrigerated ships. Increased meat shortages all over the world, as well as Australia’s stock losses through drought may result not only in a reduced civilian meat ration in Australia, but also in less meat for the services.
