McEACHERN.—At Gisborne on Friday, April 6, Jean, dearly beloved wife of Duncan McEachern; in her 72nd year. At rest. FOR THE EMPIRE’S CAUSE MATHESON.—I74IS Pte John Archibald George Matheson, beloved younger son of Mrs C. E. Matheson and the late Mr A. Matheson, 350 Herbert Street, Invercargill; aged 29 years. Killed in battle on February 9, 1945, while a prisoner of war in Germany.
