NATIONAL WAR SAVINGS. —Yesterday was the best day for war savings at Invercargill for some time, investments totalling £1306. This makes the total for this week £2294, which exceeds the city’s weekly quota of £1634 by £660, with this morning’s receipts yet to come. Invercargill has had 158 weekly successes and has raised £74.800 since April 1 last, leaving £lO,OOO required io reach the annual quota of £84.968 by March 31. It is hoped to reach this by the end of this month.
