KING’S BIRTHDAY MESSAGE

The King in a birthday message, replying to congratulations from the Lord Mayor of London said: ‘I shall be glad if you will convey to the citizens of London my sincere thanks for their good wishes on my birthday, together with my congratulations on the spirit with which in the past year they have withstood the renewed assaults of the enemy on their homes.”
