HIGHER SALARIES FOR LEADERS
Bill Presented In U.S. Congress
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, December 14.
Mr Carl Vinson (Dem., Georgia), in the House of Representatives, introduced a Bill to increase the salaries of the -President from 75,000 to 100,000 dollars, of the Vice-President, the Speaker and the members of the Cabinet from 15,000 to 25,000 dollars, and of members of the House from 10,000' to 15,000 dollars. Mr Vinson said that, because of taxes, the President’s 75,000 dollars is a net 27,000 dollars at the end of the year. All high officials’ salaries were similarly affected.
