WOOL APPRAISAL COMPLETED

Some Choice Hogget Lines OFFICIAL RANGE OF PRICES The second wool appraisal of the 1944/45 season at Invercargill was completed yesterday afternoon, 13,413 bales being submitted. A large percentage of' the catalogue comprised hogget fleece and dry ewe and wether wool. Last year at this appraisal 16,098 bales were offered, the drop being caused by the broken weather. A feature of the catalogue was the splendid offering of choice hogget wools, particularly lines from the Eastern District. The buyers commented very favourably on the offering generally. The favourable winter was responsible for the good length and strength of staple. Against this, however, it was noticeable that a number of lines showed tick stain and dustiness.
