TRUCK CAPSIZES
11 SOLDIERS INJURED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, December 14. Eleven soldiers returning from a dance at Pukekohe to the Papakura camp were injured last night when an Internal Marketing Division truck capsized when turning into Pukekohe on the east road. There were 25 soldiers in the truck and the following were admitted to the Auckland Hospital:— Sergeant Robert Alexander Wright, condition serious. Staff Sergeant William Henry Hooker, head injuries, condition satisfactory. Lance-Corporal J. F. Nearly, shock, condition fair. Private Ernest Thomas Cowshill, fractured collar bone, condition satisfactory. Private J. R. B. Rail, fractured ribs, condition fair. Private R. D. C. Addis, internal injuries, condition fair. Minor injuries were suffered by Privates R. F. Coppins, J. C. Burgess, A. W. Bennett and N. S. Raines and Corporal J. G. Watson, who were admitted to the Papakura military camp hospital.
