JUMPERS SCHOOLED AT RICCARTON TEST PILOT’S GOOD DISPLAY (Special) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 13. Night Pal smashed a hurdle when he fell in a school with Lucky Jack at Riccarton this morning. His rider, K. Thomson, suffered injuries to a collarbone, it being his second similar accident in the last few months. Lucky Jack completed the round alone, jumping well. These two are both being prepared for hurdle races at southern holiday meetings. The steeplechase education of Test Pilot was resumed this morning when he jumped six fences in company with Cobalt, a Myosotis gelding who hasrecently joined R. Register’s stable. They went at some pace and gave an attractive exhibition. . Roman Son has shown improvement in his jumping lately and he should be a fit horse for the hurdle races at Wingatui. . . , R. J. Mackie will ride Kevin in the Dunedin Cup while in the Fitzherbert Handicap at the Manawatu meeting WJ. Broughton will be on John Gay and A. C. Messervy on Irish Note. Language, a filly by Lang Bian from Scold was left in the Dunedin Champagne Stakes by mistake. She will not be ready to begin racing for some time yet, but she has improved a lot lately.
