GREEK DECORATIONS
Presentation In Auckland (P.A.) AUCKLAND, December 13. At a special ceremonial parade held at Papakura this morning decorations awarded by the Greek Government were presented by Major-General P. H. Bell, officer commanding the Northern Military District. The Greek Military Cross (third class) was awarded to Major H. G. Woller, New Zealand Staff Corps, of Parnell. The award was made as a result of Major Wooller’s courage, gallantly and self-sacrifice while serving with a Greek battalion during the Battle of Crete. Staff-Sergeant L. J. Knox, of Grey Lynn, and Bombardier D. F. McMasters, of Orakei, were presented with the Greek Distinguished Service Medal. Today was the first, time that Greek decorations have been presented at a parade in Auckland.
