MAGISTRATE’S COURT
(Before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M.) On a charge of being in possession of an unregistered firearm, John Johnston Wylie (Kaiwera) was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/-. For being in possession of an unlicensed wireless set, Andrew Beattie, Hamilton street, Gore, was convicted and fined 5/-, costs 10/-. A fine of 15/-, costs 10/-, was imposed on Ernest Baxter (Heriot) on a charge of. having no warrant of fitness for a motor-vehicle.
For allowing two horses to wander, Robert Lawrence Reid (Chatton) was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/-. On a charge of allowing 13 head of cattle to wander, Earl Lindsay Robinson (Whiterig) was convicted and ordered to pay costs 12/-. A charge against James Jackson (Mr E. C. Smith) of allowing eight head of cattle to wander was dismissed. PERSONAL: Constable J. P. McGrouther of Dunedin, is expected to arrive at Gore at the end of the week. He will be attached to the staff of the Gore Police Station.
