Cooler Temperatures (Special) WELLINGTON, Dec. 12. Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow: — A depression in the south Tasman Sea is moving', south-eastward. Fresh to strong north-westerly winds, changing to south-westerly. The weather fair to cloudy and mild al first, but showery weather and cooler temperatures accompanying the wind change. The weather was cool and showery in Invercargill yesterday. There was very little wind. The weather at 1 o’clock this morning was cool, calm and overcast. The barometer reading was 29.78 in. (rising) THE TIDES—High water, Invercargill, 1.05 a.m., 1.22 p.m.; Bluff, 0.24 a.m.. 12.41 p.m.; Riverton, 11.41 a.m., : Oreti Beach, 11.50 a.m., . THE SUN—Rises. 4.47 a.m.; sets, 8.35 D.nx.
