Mainly Cloudy (Special) WELLINGTON, Dec. 4. Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow: — A depression lies to the cast and an anti-cyclone is centred over Tasmania. Moderate south-westerly winds, freshening occasionally oh the coast. A few showers about the coast and hills, but the weather mainly cloudy. Temperatures cool. After a cold and showery morning, the weather in Invercargill yesterday cleared and sunny weather was experienced during the greater part of the afternoon. A fresh south-westerly wind blew. The weather at 1 o clock this morning was cold and overcast and steady rain was failing. The barometer reading was 29.42 in. (rising). THE TIDES —High water, Invercargill, 6.51 a.m., 7.15 p.m.; Bluff, 6.10 a.m., 6.34 p.m.; Riverton, 5.10 a.m., 5.34 p.m.; Oreti Beach, 5.19 a.m., 5.43 p.m. THE SUN.—Rises, 4.49 a.m.; sets, 8.26 p.m.
