Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow: — A depression lies to the cast and an anti-cyclone is centred over Tasmania. Moderate south-westerly winds, freshening occasionally oh the coast. A few showers about the coast and hills, but the weather mainly cloudy. Temperatures cool. After a cold and showery morning, the weather in Invercargill yesterday cleared and sunny weather was experienced during the greater part of the afternoon. A fresh south-westerly wind blew. The weather at 1 o clock this morning was cold and overcast and steady rain was failing. The barometer reading was 29.42 in. (rising).
