PERSIAN GULF LIFE LINE

4,000,000 Tons Of Stores Sent To Russia

(8.0.W.) RUGBY, November 4. The total tonnage of stores sent to Russia through the Persian Gulf by the Anglo-American supply lines has now reached 4,000,000 tons, it was announced by General Headquarters of the PersiaIraq Command. These stores, at first essential to the Russians in repelling the German invader, now serve a double purpose. They are helping the Red Army towards complete victory and at the same time are helping to rebuild the devastated areas.

The story of how the limited communications of Persia and Iraq were built up'to make such big tonnages possible is one of team work between the Allied nations involved. Neith'-:' the British nor the Americans were responsible for carrying out the task. They work together and with them worked the people of Iraq and Persia.
