DAYLIGHT BAKING
Discussion By Industry
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, September 29. The Minister, of Labour, Mr Webb, stated today that during the past two days there had been a conference of the baking industry in Wellington to consider the question of daylight baking. The conference was representative of both employers and employees. No agreement was reached, but investigations were to be made and information would be secured from Australia where, in some parts, daylight baking was in operation.
Mr Webb said he was anxious to see an end of night baking if daylight baking were practicable and after further investigations had been made he would call the conference together again.
