METHODIST MINISTER BIDDEN FAREWELL
The Rev. D. I. Robertson, who has been in charge of the Edendale Methodist circuit for a number of years, was, with Mrs Robertson, bidden farewell on the eve of his departure for Kaikohe, North Auckland. Mr E. Humphries, who presided, presented Mr Robertson with a monetary gift from members of the circuit. He expressed regret at Mr Robertson’s departure and spoke of the interest which Mr and Mrs Robertson had taken in the work and welfare of the church. The Rev. J. M. Blight spoke for the Gore Methodist circuit and the Ministers’ Association. Other speakers were the Rev. J. T. Gardiner, on behalf of the Wyndham and district Presbyterians, and Messrs W. T. Lobb and A. T. Heydon. Mrs McDonald presented Mrs Robertson with, a gift from the Edendale Ladies’ Guild and Mrs W. Fraser presented her with a handbag from the Wyndham women.
