WOMEN’S SECTION, R.S.A.-The statement that the women’s section of the Gore Returned Services Association now had a membership of nearly 200 was made at the annual meeting la st week. The second annual report stated that two features of the year’s work were a successful concert to raise funds for the Gore Soldiers’ Entertainment Committee,' at which the sum of £2B 4/- was raised, and the collection of £34 from the produce stall conducted by members at the summer patriotic flower show. On March 28 a picture party was held for the children of members serving overseas, the entertainment being attended by 72 children and 48 adults. Members had had the pleasure of listening to addresses by Captain T. L. Macdonald, M.P., on his experiences overseas, by Miss Molly Rogers, describing her presentation to the Queen, and by Mr B. J. Jacobs, Dominion president of the New Zealand Returned Services Association. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £2O/7/10. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mrs W. D. F. King; secretary, Miss D. Reynolds; committee, Mesdames Keown, Salton, Davis, W. Mac Kay, Kershaw, Northcoat, A. Johnston and Anderson.
