PERSONAL
The Hon. Mr Justice O’Regan will arrive in Invercargill during the weekend and will preside over a sitting of the Compensation Court which begins on Monday morning. Mr C. G. White, of Wellington, president of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, will arrive in Invercargill from Dunedin on Monday evening after making a short stay at Gore. He will address a meeting of Invercargill members of the society on Monday night. Mr White will be the guest of the Southland president, Mr' J, D. Campbell. Mr J. Philp, superintendent of the Invercargill Fire Brigade, returned on Thursday night from Wellington. Mr H. S. Irving, Newcastle street, has received word that his son, Flight-Ser-geant Philip P. Irving, who is serving overseas with the R.N.Z.A.F., hps been promoted to the rank of warrant officer.
