BEN FOORD FOUND DEAD
CAPE TOWN, September 28. Ben Foord, the former British Empire heavyweight boxing champion, has been found shot dead at his home in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. He was visiting his wife on week-end leave. He served throughout the Abyssinian campaign and also in Egypt, after which he was invalided back to South Africa with a knee injury. He was recently attached to the youth training brigade as a boxing instructor. in the harbour and a damaged ship was last seen beached. It is estimated that 150 Japanese were killed or wounded.
