MANY APPEALS LODGED
The number of appeals received at the office of the Southland Armed Forces Appeal Board from or on behalf of men in the most recent ballot is now 662. Yesterday 160 appeal forms were received by registered post. The number of men in No. 12 military area in this ballot was 1381 so that the appeals already received concern about 50 per cent, of them. The number of appeals is likely to be increased by late lodgments. These are accepted provided there is a reasonable excuse for the delay.
