BUILDING PERMITS. TO Builders and Property-owners intending to build: — In both the Southland County and the Wallace County it is necessary to obtain from the Council a Building mit under the Southland and Wallace Counties Joint By-law 1942 in the following cases:— (1) Where a dwelling is to be erected anywhere in either County. (2) Within certain areas in each County where a dwelling, a building to be used in connection with a dwelling, a building in which anyone is to be employed, a shop, a church, a building for public meetings, performances or entertainments or a building in which human food is to be stored, is to be erected, and in these areas all sanitary plumbing work must be carried out by a Registered Plumber to plans and specifications approved by the County Engineer or Building Inspector. (3) Alterations, renewals or substantial repairs to the foregoing buildings. NOTES: (a) Complete plans and specifications in duplicate must be submitted with each application for a Building Permit or a Sanitary Plumbing Permit. (b) Plans of the areas mentioned in (2) above can be inspected as follows: Areas in Southland County: At the Southland County Office, Invercargill, the Offices of the Health Department, Invercargill and Gore. Areas in Wallace County: At the Wallace County Office, Otautau, and the Office of the Health Department, Invercargill. (c) Forms of Applications for Building Permits can be obtained at the office of either County Council. (d) This Notice is given by way of giving general information only and subject to the provisions of the By-law mentioned above which should be perused by all builders or owners intending to build.
