Mrs G. St. V. Keddel, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs H. J. Macalister, Albert street. Mrs Colin Story, Venlaw, is the guest of her mother, Mrs E. R. Wilson, Russell street. Miss Marjorie Macdonald, Collingwood street, is visiting her sister, Mrs A. C. Millar, Arthur street, Blenheim. Mrs Winston Maclean, who has been staying with Mr and Mrs A. Derbie, Wellington street, will return to Christchurch tomorrow. The winners of the original short story competition held annually by the Literary Circle of the Otago Women’s Club are: First equal, Mrs J. Sutherland Ross and Mrs Porteous; second, Mrs F. G. Soper. The judge was Miss Winifred McQuilkan, and the prize is presented by Lady Ferguson. The Music Circle of the Southland Women’s Club meets tomorrow (Tuesday) night when Gilbert and Sullivan music will be presented. 3722
