HOME GUARD— The Home Guard did not in any manoeuvres during the week-end. Captain N. W. McGorlick reports that there is to be an issue of new rifles, all the old ones having been called in. NATIONAL SAVINGS— BIuff is still maintaining its contributions to National Savings, its quota again being passed last week. PERSONAL— Telegraphist E. Johnson has returned, to his depot after spending his leave at home. RED CROSS SOCIETY— At a well-attended meeting of the Bluff Red Cross Society it was decided to donate £25 to the joint council of St. John and the Red Cross in Invercargill towards prisoners of war parcels.
