The Hon. Mr Justice O’Regan, who presided at a sitting of the Compensation Court in Invercargill yesterday will return to Dunedin by this afternoon’s express. Mr W. G. V. Fernie, general manager of the Calder Mackay Co., Ltd., arrived in Invercargill last night. Mr J. A. Roy, M.P. for Clutha, visited Gore yesterday and attended a meeting of local body representatives about the proposed repairs to the Gore traffic bridge. The Rev. Father J. Murphy has returned to Invercargill after spending a holiday in the north. Mr J. W. Wood is visiting Wellington. He will return to Invercargill at the end of this week.

Captain A. C. Dickens was the speaker at the weekly luncheon of the Invercargill Rotary Club yesterday. He gave an interesting account of life on a hospital ship and was warmly thanked on the motion of Dr G. J. Yule. Mr A. G. Harrington, M.Sc., A.P.A.N.Z., has been admitted to partnership by Messrs A. L. Adamson and C. W. Francis. The new name of the firm will be Adamson, Francis and Harrington.

Messrs M. W. Grantham (chairman), S. D. Macpherson and H. H. Gillard (members) and W. J. Mathers (secretary), of the Industrial Man-Power Committee for Otago and Southland, arrived in Invercargill by the express last night and will hold a sitting today. They will return north today.
