Sir, —At this stage the New Zealand Government should insist on a standard wholemeal loaf being produced by the bakers right throughout the Dominion. This has been done in Britain in the interests of efficiency, economy, and public health. At present there is too much white bread and too many fancy loaves being sold. From these the public gets neither good value for its money nor the maximum nutriment.
