POLITICAL TRUCE DENOUNCED

(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, June 7. The Daily Express in a leader questions the need for a political party truce, and asks whether, because there was a truce in the last war, this is sufficient reason for the present truce. The mass of voters are clearly tired of the truce, the newspaper declares and adds: The truce is nonsense. It is futile to blink at the difference between Tories and Socialists. Suppressing or hiding the difference of viewpoints does not create unity, but merely humbug. If the truce is not ended the voter must fall back on the Independents to champion the war against Hitler abroad and humbug at home.
