On Thursday a daylight dispersal of the business area and schools will be held at Gore. Tire alarm will be sounded at 9.45 a.m., and all people west of the main and Waimea railway lines will proceed to the borough reserves west of Fairfield street. Residents east of the main and Waimea railway lines will go to the river, bank. All school children will proceed to their dispersal areas under the supervision of their teachers.

The business area concerned is from the north of Hyde street to Irwell street and from Fairfield street to the Mataura river. All wardens in the area will take up their posts and supervise the dispersal, and members of the emergency traffic police and the law and order section will be on duty. Tire public is asked to treat the matter seriously and to co-operate fully with the Emergency Precautions Service officials. A statement that arrangements were well in hand and that the whole dispersal should be completed in less than half an hour was made by Mr James Ritchie at a meeting of the Gore E.P.S. Committee last night. GOLF— More than 30 competitors participated in a flag match conducted by the' Gore Golf Club on its links at Croydon. The match was won by R. E. Sutherland, who played six strokes under his handicap and carried the flag to the 20th hole. A medal match played by members of the Gore Ladies’ Golf Club resulted In a win for Mrs A. D. Reid, who beat Miss D. Perry on the count back.
