NO OIL IN BURMA FOR JAPANESE

(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) NEW DELHI, May 31. General Sir Harold Alexander in a Press conference said the Japanese would not get one drop of petrol from Burma for a year. Asked why reinforcements had not reached Burma by land, he said the road over which his army retreated to India was completed only a week before and then sappers were at work on it.
