Late News RUSSIAN ADVANCE ON KHARKOV
(Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, May 29. Vichy radio said that a Russian armoured column, covering the operations of shock troops, has penetrated four miles deeper into Kharkov city’s fortified zone and has reached Danilovka, which is a locality seven miles northeast of Kharkov. Russian artillery is now bombarding Kharkov. HEYDRICH UNDERGOES OPERATION STOCKHOLM. May 29. The Berlin correspondent of the newspaper, Allehands says that Heydrich has undergone an operation. His condition is described as dangerous. BATTLE WITH PACK OF SUBMARINES ST. LUCIA (West Indies), May 29. Surviving a second submarine attack within three days, the destroyer Blakely reached port after a battle with a submarine pack lurking off Martinique. One submarine was sunk.
