DONATION TO HEALTH CAMP.—A donation of £5/5/- to the Roxburgh health camp has been made from the Mayor's Social Service Fund. HOME GUARD PARADE—The next Sunday parade of the Invercargill Battalion of the Home Guard will be earlier than usual, members being required to assemble at 9 o’clock.

MEN LEAVE FOR CAMPS—A small draft of 30 men from the Southland military district left yesterday morning for a northern camp They were accompanied by Captain W Grieve. Another small draft leaves this morning for northern camps. EXPRESS DELAYED—The ChristchurchInvercargill express was an hour late in arriving at Invercargill last night. The steamer express from Wellington was threeouarters of an hour late in arriving at Lyttelton and the express was an hour late in leaving Christchurch. MUTTON-BIRDERS RETURN—The ketch Britannia (Mr W. B. Dixon) returned to Bluff yesterday with more mutton-birders. A very poor catch is reported. Tire Orewa (Mr H Roderique) was expected late last night with the remainder. The season's operations are now closed.
