MR WACHNER NOMINATED Mr A. Wachner has been nominated by Mr N. J. Brokenshire and Mr J. D. Speirs for the office of Mayor, made vacant by the resignation of Mr J. R. Martin because of illness. The nomination paper was lodged yesterday with the returning officer, Mr W. F. Sturman. Mr Wachner is at present DeputyMayor, having headed the poll at the last council election. In the past few months, during Mr Martin’s illness, he has been carrying out the duties of Mayor.
