USE OF VEHICLES FOR HOME GUARD
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 28. In a statement about motor vehicles lent to the Home Guard, the Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence, says the Government will see that owners and drivers do not suffer loss in the event of damage or personal injury where there, is no insurance cover. This will also apply in the case of Red Cross women transport drivers. Tlie vehicles must be used on duly authorized military duty. The Government would reserve the right to decline any claim it did not consider justified and the arrangement would operate only so long as no actual warfare was taking place.
