SCHOOL SPORTS CANCELLED
Because of the effect of travel restrictions on country representation, the undesirability of centralizing large gatherings of country school children and the depletion of male staffs in many schools, the usual school sports meeting will not be held this year. This decision was made at a meeting of the Southland School Sports Association. It has been decided, however, to hold a local sports meeting for city schools on Friday, March 20. At this gathering no trophies will be provided and children will compete as individuals and not as representatives of particular schools. It has been suggested that for this year country districts might arrange similar gatherings.
