(P.A.) DUNEDIN, February 27. Harvesting operations continue to be held up in many wheat-growing areas because of wet conditions. Southland would appear to be an exception, though early in the week the weather had improved in the Ashburton district. Milling wheat is now starting to arrive on the local market. There are no offerings of new oats so far on the local market.

Damp weather in Canterbury during the past fortnight has stopped all threshing of seeds. From all reports this season will not be equal to that of last year and that the quality will also not be as good as it was last season.

The cocksfoot crop is reported to be short both in Canterbury and Invercargill, and it is stated that the new season's ryegrass seed will be light in weight. The brown top crop, however, is reported to be fairly good. Business in seeds in New Zealand is, of course, materially affected by the position for shipment overseas.
