EMERGENCY BRAKE ON TRAIN APPLIED
YOUNG MAN FINED £2 For using without reason an emergency braking appliance on a railway carriage, Francis Arthur Donnelly, aged 21 years, at present in Burnham military camp, was fined £2 with costs 10/- in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Senior Sergeant W. T. Kelly prosecuted and c oid that Donnelly was a
passenger on an excursion train from Queenstown on November 30, 1941. When the train stopped at Centre Bush the guard heard the emergency brake applied. Donnelly admitted using the brake, but could give no reason for his action. The Magistrate, Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M., said that he would impose a comparatively light fine because the train was not moving when the brake was applied.
