NEW ZEALAND AND BRITAIN
NATIONAL SAVINGS COMPARED
The latest National Savings returns for the Dominion indicate that at the end of November there were more than 260,000 accounts and that £3,546,000 had been received in investments, made up of £1,335,000 by bonds and £2,211,000 by National Savings deposits. The November investments totalled £243,000. These figures show that an average of £2 a head of the population has been invested. In Britain more than £2O a head has been saved by this means and -the deposits exceed £1,000,000,000.
