TRENCHES DUG AT SCHOOL
There was an excellent response last evening to the appeal made by the St. George School Committee for volunteers to dig trenches in the school playground. A band of enthusiastic workers gathered at the school and completed four chains of trenches. As the roll number of the school is approximately 700, about 60 chains will be required. The work is to be continued tonight, tomorrow and at the beginning of next week. The secretary of the school committee (Mr W. Carswell) said last night that even more workers would be welcomed.
