“VACUUM STARTER”
One of the problems confronting motorists who install gas producers is how to obtain petrol to start the unit. One Invercargill motorist solved this problem ingeniously by using a vacuum cleaner to draw a stream of gas into the engine. As he could not carry the cleaner with him, he later improved on the idea by installing the fan from the cleaner beneath the bonnet and by fitting an appropriately geared wheel turned by a hand crank to drive it. His device has proved a complete success.
