MORE SHIPS SUNK OFF U.S. COAST
(Rec. 9 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 21. The Navy Department announced that the United States steamer, City of Atlanta has been sunk. The Latvian freighter, Ciltvaira was also sunk by an enemy submarine along the Atlantic Coast.
A later message stated that 44 men of the crew of 46 are dead on the City of Atlanta. Two of the crew of 32 are dead on the Ciltvaira. The Navy is intensifying the submarine hunt.
