R.A.F. SWEEP OVER FRANCE
TWO FACTORIES ATTACKED (8.0.W.) RUGBY, January 21. . The Air Ministry states: Our fighters on patrol over Nprthern France this afternoon attacked several objectives, including factories, army huts and a goods train. None of our aircraft is missing. , It is officially stated that two factories were attacked. Following a railway line the pilots came upon the first factory, fired from roof-top height and saw cannon shells and niachine-gun bullets strike home. They continued along the railway line and attacked a second factory. On the return journey they attacked both again. Another sergeant-pilot sent German troops in the open scurrying for shelter. Another official communique states: This afternoon an enemy plane dropped bombs on one of the Shetland Islands. One person was killed and a small number injured.
