McLeod proposed a toast to the guest of honour and Miss Mclntyre replied. RED CROSS A general meeting of the Tuatapere Red Cross Society was well attended and Dr Elder presided. The president outlined the activities of the branch since the last meeting, the most important feature being the training of 35 V.A.’s. They are now equipped with uniforms and have sat their home nursing and first aid examinations. Four have expressed a wish to go overseas if required, while numerous others are prepared to serve anywhere in New Zealand. It was reported that the emergency chest was almost completed, with the exception of blankets, which were difficult to obtain. Medical supplies were on order and the chest had been insured.
