ROAD DEVIATION AT GORGE ROAD
Reconstruction of a small section of Holtz road at Gorge Road has been necessitated by the encroachment of the Mataura river. At its meeting yesterday the Southland County Council adopted the recommendation of the engineer (Mr G. R. Milward) to take three-quarters of an acre from the property of Mr S. G. Lobb to construct a deviation. The purchase price agreed to was £22/10/-. It was decided to proceed with the necessary constructional work.
