PUPILS FORGO THEIR PRIZES
DONATION TO PATRIOTIC FUND Among the donations received recently by the treasurer _pf the Southland Provincial Patriotic Fund (Mr W. F. Sturman), was one of £l6 18/5 from the Hedgehope-Glencoe Patriotic Committee, which represented the profits from the annual school concert. The profits would normally have been spent on prizes, but the pupils this year decided to forgo their prizes and give the money to the Patriotic Fund. The sum of £lO/6/- was also received through the Hedgehope-Glen-coe Committee from the Hedgehope Tennis Club.
Other donations are: —Star coal miners £2/3/5; Limehills Patriotic Committee £2l/9/6; Bluff Patriotic Committee £5/6/-; Wairio Patriotic Committee £l2/2/-; Railways Department staff £42/16/-; Tussock Creek Patriotic Committee £B/6/-.
