LARGE CITY PROPERTY SOLD
MOTOR COMPANY’S PURCHASE
The sale of a large block of city property adjoining The Southland News building, including part of the Federal buildings fronting Dee street, has been announced.
The block comprises more than half an acre with a 68 feet frontage to Dee street and an 84 feet frontage to Leven street. It includes part of the Federal Buildings fronting Dee street and the whole of the buildings occupied by Macaulay Motors Ltd., which extend behind the Federal Buildings to Leven street. Tire sale also includes a building adjoining the garage in Leven street which was formerly used as a blacksmith’s shop. The purchase has been made from the estate of the late Sir Joseph Ward by the Colonial Motor Company, Ltd. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
