WEDDING

MURRAY—SPENCER The wedding took place at First Church, Invercargill, recently of Audrey, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs William Spencer, Makarewa, and Mervyn, third son of Mrs E. Murray and the late Mr T. Murray, of Edendale. The Rev. J. A. Thomson performed the ceremony and Mrs A. F. Manning was .organist. The church

was decorated with white and lavender lilac and rhododendrons.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of cream georgette made on fitting lines, the full skirt and train being edged with pleating. Her embroidered veil of cream net was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of lily of the valley, freesias and maidenhair fem. Her only ornament was a threetier string of pearls lent by a friend. Miss Patricia Gardiner was bridesmaid. She wore a frock of cream georgette made on similar lines to that of the bride. She wore a gold pendant, the gift of the bridegroom. In her hair she wore a top-knot of cream freesias and carried a bouquet of freesias and pink stock. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr T. Murray, as best man, and Messrs H. Murray and S. Irwin were ushers. The reception was held at Elmwood Garden, where Mrs Spencer, assisted by Mrs Murray, received the guests. During the signing of the register and at the reception solos were sung by Miss Edwyna Hargest. For travelling the bride wore a dusky pink frock under a dawn coat with black accessories.
