SOUTHLAND WOMEN’S CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Southland Women’s Club was held yesterday afternoon, when the president; Mrs Ritchie Crawford, presided over a good attendance of members. Mrs Crawford remarked on the successful year the club had experienced and congratulated the various circles on the good attendance at all the meetings. The following office-bearers were elected: President, Mrs J. D. Gilmore; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. N. Armour, H. R. Gibson and Miss C. McLeod; executive committee, Mesdames A. C. Dickens, A, E. H. Bath, A. M. Macdonald, A. W. Owen-Johnston, G. R. Milward, Stanley Brown, C. E. Watts, J. H. Young, W. J. Jones and T. F. Gilkison; patriotic circle, Mesdames Ritchie Crawford, R. Brownlie, A. C. Dickens, N. Earl, W. J. Jones, Misses F. England, J. E. McLeod and O. Rein. Mrs Crawford, in retiring from the position of president, thanked the members for the help they had given her during the year, and expressed the hope that Mrs Gilmore would have a happy term of office. Special mention was made of the work done by Mrs Dickens in so artistically arranging the flowers for all the functions held during the year.
