I am sorry that few of the country Little Southlanaers will be able to take advantage of this opportunity, but some other time we may arrange a.day which will suit them. For this chance to see how a paper is printed, you must thank some of the town, cousins who asked Cousin Betty, who asked Mr Printerman, who said Y es " So on Tuesday afternoon, at 3.45 p.m. come to my room and you will be taken to see the mechanical side of a newspaper. During the week £3l/6/- was given to the Red Cross from the Little Southlanders. This will be used for the local activities of the society, the money being raised by clans holding functions and competitions. This may not be the final amount, as the last day on which money may be sent in is December 5, and more clans may be working to raise funds. So far the Silver Swallow Clan (Invercargill) is leading, but some of the others may yet come forward to win the special prize for the clan earning the most. Congratulations to Margaret Woods, Mavis Finlay, Jean McNoe and Betty McNoe, all Masters of Mind Sharpeners, and to John McNoe, who is now an Able Contributor. Prizes of 2/- are being sent to all of these cousins. There are now three who have not missed a single sharpener mark all year, so it will be a close finish for the one with the highest number of marks.
