INCREASED PRICES IN AUSTRALIA
CANBERRA, November 14.
An increase of 2Jd a dozen boxes in the retail price of safety matches is announced by the Prices Commissioner. The retail price is now lid or llld, according to pre-war prices in the various localities. Since the beginning of the war increases of s|d a dozen boxes have been allowed.
An increase of a penny a gallon in the price of petrol will operate from today. The retail price is now 2/7 a gallon.
